- 2 Tbsp. coarse sea salt (or kosher)
- 1 onion (medium, thinly sliced)
- 1 1/2 cups flour (chickpea, gram flour)
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cumin seeds (whole)
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 tsp. ground coriander
- 1 tsp. chilli powder (mild, or 1/2 teaspoon hot cayenne pepper)
- salt (More, to taste)
- 1/4 cup water (if required)
- oil (Unscented, to deep fry, I used canola)
- 1 handful fresh cilantro
- 1 handful fresh mint
- 1 lemon (large, + extra to taste)
- 1/4 cup water (as required to blend)
