I canadianized this recipe , used canadian rye whiskey and a 50/50 blend of maple syrup and brown sugar. I also found it a bit thin , so I put it back on the fire to reduce a bit further after running it through the blender. The aroma coming off this was really nice and smoky , cant wait to use it.

Don't know why but it ended up really thin. Cant wait to try it though in other recipes
