- 1/4 cup fresh goat cheese
- 1/4 cup cream cheese
- 1/4 cup dates (chopped)
- 2 Tbsp. scallions (finely chopped, both white and green parts work here)
- 1/2 tsp. hot sauce
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/3 cup salt (and-Butter-Roasted Pecans, recipe below, roughly chopped)
- 2 Tbsp. flat leaf parsley (chopped)
- 2 cups pecan halves (or pieces)
- 2 Tbsp. melted butter
- 3/4 tsp. salt (divided)

I doubled the recipe- it makes a smaller ball as written and I wanted it for a party. Beside doubling it, I followed the exactly and I was delicious. I did not need two full cups of pecans, but it looked nice with the extras surrounding the ball. Served with rye and pumpernickel cocktail breads (it suggests a more plain cracker, but this worked), and everyone loved it. It was gone in no time. I’ll definitely make this again.
