- 100 grams paneer (/cottage cheese, cubed)
- 1 Tbsp. sesame oil (or mustard oil)
- 1 Tbsp. chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp. turmeric powder
- 1 tsp. coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp. jeera (/cumin powder)
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper (Powder)
- 1 tsp. Garam Masala
- 3/4 cup tomato puree (or puree 2 large tomatoes)
- 10 garlic (pods, crushed into a paste)
- 3 inches ginger piece (grated finely or crushed into a paste)
- 1 Tbsp. jaggery (powdered)
- 1 Tbsp. tamarind juice (from marble size tamarind soaked in hot water)
- 2 tsp. vinegar (optional)
- salt (to taste)
- 1 tsp. mustard seeds
- 2 tsp. oil (mustard or sesame)
- 1/4 cup coconut milk (optional)
