This was excellent but I add 1/2 teaspoon more of oregano, 1 teaspoon of chili powder, a pinch more of cayenne pepper and kosher salt to taste. I also add a small chopped jalapeño pepper to the vegetables

Amazing! I added dry smoked sausage and some tofu previously dried in the oven. Freezes well too!

Excellent recipe!! I doubled all the ingredients to meal prep for the entire week for my wife and I. This recipe is better than most restaurants. I will never soak my beans an entire day again; rather, use the quick soak method that was suggested in the article.

I made this recently and OMG...very good. The kids really loved it. I will be making this again tonight...thanks for the recipe!

great bulk recipe for weekday lunches, however i realized far too late that this was going to be a huge time sink especially using dried beans. definitely make on a weekend, not at 6pm on a monday. 😳

This was amazing! I used small red beans, not kidney beans, and took out some of the beans when you smash them, and flattened real good on a plate and returned to the pot. Took about four hours of cooking for me.

AMAZING!!!
I finally found a recipe for red beans and rice that my entire family loves and the flavor I was looking for.😋
Thank you for sharing your recipe!
Btw, I used a pressure cooker to speed the process since I was meal prepping for lunches for the week.
