Very good! I used marshmallow root powder in place of the flour and hemp milk in place of the coconut milk. I fried mushrooms on the side and added them to the finished gravy. Thank you for sharing this tasty recipe!

I love the idea of making a paste and using soy sauce over the traditional roux. I added extra soy sauce, nutritional yeast, a seasoned salt blend and dried herbs since I only used water instead of broth. I also used my homemade vanilla coconut milk rather than opening a new can. I’m serving with a cornbread casserole thingy I created (standard cornbread recipe with extra milk and mixed with diced veggies (mushrooms, onions, yellow squash, zucchini and seasonings) then cooked at 400F for 50 minutes until set.

I have never been a big fan of gravy. My husband made this last night with wheat flour instead all purpose, and almond milk instead of coconut milk. It was amazing!! Loved it! Will be having this thanksgiving day over Tofurkey. 😍
