- 1 tsp. instant yeast
- 235 mL milk (plant, warmed in a pan to around 32c)
- 200 grams white flour (plain)
- 160 grams flour (type “00”, the type used for pasta and pizza dough)
- 5 Tbsp. caster sugar
- 60 mL vegetable oil
- 50 grams sauce (vegan Hoi Sin)
- 50 grams soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. Shaoxing wine
- 2 Tbsp. brown rice syrup (/fruit syrup/maple syrup)
- 2 Tbsp. light brown sugar
- 2 cloves crushed garlic
- 1/2 tsp. Chinese five-spice
- 170 grams boiling water
- 110 grams soy (dehydrated, slices, sometimes called TVP, sometimes called soy slices. I use Longdan brand from my local asian supermarket)
- 1/2 cucumber (thinly sliced)
- 1 carrot (sliced into fine strips)
- 1 bunch coriander
- 2 tsp. white sesame seeds
