I made it exactly as directed and it turned out perfectly. Both my son and husband love it, as do I. The crumb is tender, the crust is crunchy and the turbinado sugar on top is fantastic. Making a double batch now; I slice it and toast the slices whenever we want them.

Absolutely perfect, I’ve made this 5 times now. So moist and flavourful and fluffy. I use unsalted butter. No add ins. I agree that it could be a bit sweeter for some tastes. Maybe adding an additional quarter cup of brown sugar? But if you are generous with the turbinado sugar on top it might be too much to add more sugar... I prefer to follow this recipe to a T and load the top with turb sugar, as suggested. I’ve also used brown sugar on top which was great though turb is best. Remember not to over mix the flour, it makes a big difference
