- 375 mL hot water
- 660 grams caster sugar
- 375 grams plain flour
- 190 grams unsweetened cocoa powder (I used Cailler brand)
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/4 tsp. fine salt
- 3 eggs
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 cups natural yoghurt
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 375 mL double cream (heavy cream)
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. golden syrup (or light corn syrup, or honey, at a push)
- 325 grams dark chocolate (I used 64% Cailler cuisine chocolate, broken into small pieces)
- 170 grams unsalted butter (cut into cubes)
