- 9 bell peppers (all colours - green, yellow, orange and red will all do for a delicious mix)
- 9 tomatoes
- 1/2 cup tomato paste
- 2 onions (large)
- 2 garlic cloves (optional)
- 1 Tbsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. chilli flakes (optional)
- 1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper (optional)
- 2 Tbsp. sugar (or omit to taste. I always add sugar to my tomato sauces, but if you're watching refined sugars, omitting this won't hurt)
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 2 tsp. salt (or more, to taste)
