Wow, the secret sauce! I think I just found a winner for life. The tad of sugar and crushed red pepper must be what makes it so addictive. Loved the chunkiness and thickness of it also! Had some baby Japanese eggpIants and sliced them up to add to the onion/garlic mixture (stellar idea!). Cheated and had my meatballs made ahead and cooked them, frozen, for 20 min, in the sauce (to warm up). To complete that great duo, definitely suggest the noodles with a smathering of good olive oil and generous amount of ricotta.
