- 150 mL rum (or brandy | just avoid this completely if you don’t want to use alcohol)
- 60 mL fresh orange juice
- 2 Tbsp. orange zest
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter (at room temperature, 1-1/2 cups canola or vegetable oil)
- 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 4 eggs (or Flaxmeal Egg Replacer)
- 1/4 cup almond meal (almonds powered)
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
- 1 tsp. ground ginger
- 1 cup chopped almonds (or macadamia nuts)
