- 28 oz. coconut milk
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 4 oz. white mushrooms (sliced)
- 1 inch ginger (peeled and cut into 2)
- 3 Tbsp. fish sauce
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper (or more to taste)
- 2 stalks lemongrass (fresh, tough outer layers removed. Cut each stalk into 4 pieces**)
- green onion (Thinly sliced, use plenty as a garnish, optional)
- chopped fresh cilantro (use plenty as a garnish, optional)

I had some modifications because I’m always tinkering, but here are a few: Added bamboo shoots, flash-sautéed medium shrimp in butter and garlic prior to cooking and added them at plating, added carrots julienne, over a rice island. Thai comfort food. Well balanced, fat to acid ratio was good. Don’t be shy with fish sauce

Turned oit great. I did not use lamoengras and used minced ginger. It came out wonderful.

We used shrimp instead of chicken and at least doubled all the seasonings (ginger, fish sauce, cayenne) and it turned out very flavorful, like in a restaurant. We also cut the lemongrass stalks thinner/more numerous & let it stew a tad longer to let the flavors come together. Delish!

I used dried mushrooms and galangal but otherwise followed the recipe. Hubby loved it so it will definitely be on the menu again.

Great soup! Flavor didn’t quite taste like Tom kha, but perhaps I’d need to play with proportions of ingredients a bit

really tasty. I've made this several times it's always great. i add a little more cayenne because we like spice.

Easy and delicious! I used fresh Thai chilis instead of cayenne and adjusted fish sauce to taste.

This was so delicious. It seems too simple to end up with so much flavor! The green onion and cilantro at the end are a must. I made it extra spicy by adding a lot of ground red Thai pepper instead of cayenne.

Delicious and super easy to make!
Would make it again for sure its almost identical to what you would get served in a Thai restaurant :)
