- 3 lb. Granny Smith apples (peeled cored and sliced into thick wedges)
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 cups apple juice
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg (freshly)
- 3 Tbsp. corn starch
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 2 Tbsp. turbinado sugar (optional)
