- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 6 oz. bittersweet chocolate ( dark or , chopped, I used Trader Joe’s 72% Pound Plus Bar)
- 2 large eggs
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
- 1 Tbsp. brewed coffee (leftover or cold coffee is okay, optional but recommended)
- 1 tsp. instant espresso granules (optional but recommended)
- 3/4 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter (half of 1 stick)
- 3 Tbsp. milk (I used unsweetened cashewmilk)
- 3 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups sugar (confectioners’ )
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts (or pecans, optional)

These were absolutely delicious! Used two cups of powdered sugar for the frosting, no nuts and put them in the fridge to cool completely. Delicious!
