  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (Mexican-spiced, I used the tomatoes with green chilies)
  • 1 jalapeño (fresh, diced)
  • 4 teaspoons chili powder (2 was plenty for us!)
  • 3 teaspoons cumin
  • 2 teaspoons lime juice
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon chipotle pepper (minced)
  • 1/4 cup liquid aminos (Bragg’s, coconut aminos or low sodium soy sauce works too)
  • 1/2 red onion (diced)
  • 1/2 green bell pepper (diced)
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • salt

  • 1 dash liquid smoke (I omitted this)
  • 8 taco shells (hard)
