This recipe is a good base for the sauce, which I doubled. I prepared the sauce and chicken separately then mixed them together at the end. This prevents the chicken from getting overcooked. To thicken up the sauce, just add 2 tsp of cornstarch and 2 tbsp of water until you get that sticky consistency. So good and sticky which is why I gave it 4 stars. For the chicken, I cut them up in bite-sized pieces and dipped them in a batter of 1/2 cup of cornflour, one egg and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. This batter will be thick. Drop the chicken pieces in it until all is coated then I fried them in batches in 365 degree oil. Then I poured the thickened sauce all over my freshly fried chicken and sprinkled with chopped green onions! To die for! Try it this way! You won't be disappointed! Served with stir fry veggies and white rice! Just like take-out but so much better! This will be added to our weekly rotation!
