- 5 dried shiitake mushrooms (rehydrated, stems discarded, caps thinly sliced)
- 5 slices pineapple (canned, or according to taste, cut into pieces)
- 120 grams ketchup
- 120 grams water
- 120 grams rice wine vinegar (or cider vinegar)
- 120 grams brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch (or maitzena)
- 1 1/2 cups salt
- 1 liter vegetable oil (for frying)
