- 360 grams vegetable shortening (like kremelta)
- 475 grams plain flour
- 1 large egg (lightly beaten)
- 5 Tbsp. ice cold water
- 1 Tbsp. white vinegar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 pie (22 cm diameter)
- 425 grams pitted cherries (I will double this next time)
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 Tbsp. tapioca flour (aka tapioca starch - you can buy this at an asian grocer)
- 1 lemon
- 1/2 lemon (~3 Tablespoons)
- 1/2 tsp. almond extract (I might leave this out next time)
- 20 grams butter (cut into little pieces)
- 1 egg (lightly heated mixed with 1 Tablespoon water for egg wash)
- sugar (Extra, for sprinkling)
