This was honestly the best turkey I have ever had. So moist and flavorful, it was perfect !

Baked 14.5 lb. Previously frozen “Butterball” turkey. Minor changes to the recipe were -baked @325 degrees for 2 hours then lowered to 300 degrees, doubled up on the thyme, sage, and rosemary, used stems and remainders in cavity along with apple, onion, etc.
I really believe the cheesecloth helps hold the baste to the turkey. Bird was very, very moist. Rested for 2 hours.temp was at 120 degrees.total cook time 4 hours.

First time using this method and only 4th ever making a turkey. This will be my new forever method. It’s still juicy hours later, has the best flavor of any turkey I’ve ever had. I’m so proud of myself I pulled this off and grateful for the recipe.

I am really wanting to try this recipe tomorrow for Thanksgiving. When I went out to purchase cheesecloth I could only find flour sack cloth. Will this work?

sooo good! was my very 1st turkey, i have an electric oven, i ended up basting every 20 mins before i took the cheese cloth off took me longer than expected to cooo tho. started it at 1 finished about 7 mt turkey was stuffed and 14.30 lbs

Took way longer than anticipated - but very moist. Forgot to take the cloth off 30 min before the end, and then thought to broil it to get the brown color.... Don’t do that! Burned the perfect skin on top in under a minute after working on it for 5 hours. Probably would be better with a tad more salt/butter, and to use a Chardonnay for wine.

This is my second year making this Turkey and I don't need any other recepie (other than a good brine!) it always comes out incredibly moist and everyone lives it.

Everyone really liked it. I wanted to do something different this year. I usually like a fried turkey. And i have done the brined turkey which is a huge pain. I will do this recipe again. Thank you.

I’ve used this recipe for several thanksgivings. I used to be a huge fan of fried turkey because it kept the meat super moist. However, this recipe is fantastic. The cheesecloth keeps in all of the moisture. Best recipe.

Turned out great. This is my second go at Thanksgiving dinner and this worked out like gangbusters! Everyone loved the turkey and went on about how moist it was.

This is the best turkey ever!!! So moist and flavorful. I wouldn't even think about doing my turkey differently. If I could I would give it 10 stars. This is a must try.

Sorry for the late review , but I just want to make sure I put in this review. This was my first time making the Thanksgiving dinner. My mom usually makes it but she was gone on a trip. I was very nervous and scare that it wouldn't come out good. My family loved it and yes it's juicy with great flavor. I highly recommend this recipe. Thank you for this great recipe I will use it for next year.
