  • flour (a little, for dusting the working surface)
  • 3 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 1 cup mushrooms (diced)
  • 1 cup red bell peppers (diced)
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese (grated, after making the recipe I would suggest using the cheese cut in cubes instead of grated for a more gooey, chewy inside)
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted plus more to butter the baking dish)
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • salt (optional)
  • pepper (optional)
  • marinara sauce (for dipping – optional)
