The cake turned out amazing! It’s a perfect summer cake, very moist and tasty. I switch 1/4 cup of all purpose flour to almond flour and it tasted delicious.

So delicious and so light perfect desert. I added blueberries and it made it so perfect

Tastes amazing! I've repeated this recipe several times with whatever fruit is in season, often blueberries or cranberries. My family thought that cranberry would turn out tart, but between the batter and the sugar topping it was still sweet and delightful--no extra sweetness needed.

The rustic look is deceiving but once you take a bite into it, it’s a heavenly short cake. So far made it 3 times. First time as per recipe then second and third time I replaced the milk with heavy cream. I also topped it with demerara cane sugar to make it crispy. It is best once cooled off on the same baked day.

Absolutely in love with this cake! I made it for Summer Solstice and it was the perfect addition to the celebration.

Cake was delicious, but a bit too sweet. Could lower sugar by a couple of tablespoons. Also, it cooked for and hour and twenty minutes.

You must make this cake and eat it the same day. Gets a bit soggy on day 2, but still ok. Absolutely the best use of summer strawberries in a easy and delicious cake. I only make when guests are expected or I will eat the entire thing!!!

Love it! I've also made it with raspberries to good effect. I imagine this would work with most berries. It does sometimes take longer than an hour in the oven though - significantly, maybe caused by making two?

Turn out great. I add small chopped up strawberries to the batter as well as putting strawberries on top.

Seriously delicious. Very easy to prepare and keep an eye on. Sprinkle with some powdered sugar at the finish for an extra bit of flavor.
