I ended up serving these as a dessert and everyone was blown away! It was so decadent. My toddler screamed at me once his piece was gone, and I had to give him more of mine than I wanted to share! The recipe made too much topping to reasonably put on, but I think I used a smaller loaf pan than I was supposed to. They were thicker and more creamy/cake-like. My family won't stop asking me to make this again!

It's good but I would reduce the amount of salt- it was a little too salty

Made these bars last night for breakfast this week and absolutely fell in love with them! Had to make a couple changes though. We didn't have walnuts so I substituted macadamia nuts and accidentally used 1.5 cups in the base and 0.5 to top instead of 1 in the base and 0.5 on top but that ended up being ok because I used a casserole dish that is slightly larger than a loaf pan. I also threw in some craisins to top the bars, I just threw them in the food processor with the last half cup of macadamia nut and the toasted coconut. The jam sweetens the bars enough so I don't think the craisins made much of a difference. We ended up getting 10 bars roughly 2in x 2in
