Description
Sweet, savory apples are combined with bitter rhubarb in this fabulous compote. Not only does the sugar add sweetness to the dish but also melts and helps to caramelize the apples, extracting their natural tart flavors. To fully emulsify the flavors, almonds provide a hint of salt and plays off of the earthy tones of the rhubarb by adding a nutty component. It’s quick, simple, and takes 4 simple ingredients. Making the perfect sugar sauce is an art and this recipe is a great place to practice your skills!
