- 2 cups chicken stock
- 6 cups water
- ham bone (A, or 2 rinsed ham hocks)
- bay leaf (A)
- 1/4 tsp. salt (each of, dried thyme, rubbed sage, dried tarragon, and dried marjoram)
- freshly ground black pepper (to taste)
- 1 1/2 cups chopped ham

Very good. I didn't have any ham, so I made without the meat. Very tasty, however I did have to add extra salt and pepper. I like the texture of this soup, having puréed half of it. Nice to have creamy and chunky together. Will definitely make again. Eager to try it with the ham! Probably won't need the extra salt that way.
