- 2 sheets fishcake (Korean rectangular, Sahgahk Oden, cut into squares)
- 2 cups cabbage (cut into strips or 1 in squares)
- 1 slice carrots
- 1/2 slice onion
- 1 Tbsp. chopped garlic (or 1 tsp garlic powder)
- 3 cups water ((or anchovy stock is even better))
- 2 Tbsp. gochujang ((spicy red bean paste))
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 dash black pepper
- 1 tsp. ketchup (optional)
- 1 tsp. guk kanjang ((Korean soy sauce for soups – optional))
- 2 green onions (cut into 2 in long pieces)
- 3 perilla leaves (cut into thin strips)
