- 1/2 yellow onion (chopped)
- 1 garlic clove (small, minced)
- 3/4 tsp. curry powder
- 1/2 tsp. coriander powder
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon powder (Ceylon)
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp. cayenne pepper
- 1 cup chicken stock
- 15 oz. pumpkin puree (or 2 C fresh pumpkin puree)
- 1/4 cup milk (I used 2% and it came out surprisingly creamy)
- salt
- pepper
- 3 slices chopped bacon (cooked, or roasted pumpkin seeds for garnish, optional)
- 3 dashes cayenne pepper (for garnish, optional)
