- 2 1/2 star anise
- 2 bay leaves
- 1/8 cup bean paste (Chinese black, mix with siracha for more spice to taste)
- 1 large tomato (cut into small chunks)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 Tbsp. rice vinegar
- 1/2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 piece dried tangerine peel (large)
