- 1 stick butter (cold, and cut into 1/2-inch cubes)
- 5 Tbsp. ice cold water
- 3/4 lb. pears (for me this was 2 sweet, ripe, ; I used Red Bartlett)
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries (orange-flavored, from Trader Joes, or, plain dried cranberries plus zest from one orange)
- 1/2 tsp. canela
- 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 egg (lightly beaten with 1 tsp water)
- 1/4 cup milk
