- 12 whole allspice
- 4 cinnamon sticks (halved)
- 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg (freshly)
- 2 inches fresh ginger root (knob, peeled and rough chopped)
- 1 apple (sliced)
- 1 pear (sliced)
