Ingredients

- 1/2 lb. dried Black Mission figs (8 ounces; stems trimmed)
- 1/2 cup pinot noir wine (good quality)
- 3 Tbsp. white sugar
- 2 Tbsp. fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp. lemon zest
- 1 tsp. Garam Masala
- 1 pinch sea salt
- 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper (optional)

Directions
- Equipment: KitchenAid® Corded Hand Blender with pan guard, 2-3 qt saucepan.
- Place the dried figs and the pinot noir into your saucepan and cover the pan. Turn the heat to medium and allow the figs and wine to simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until figs have softened.
- Turn off heat. Add remaining ingredients into the pan.
