- 1 cup masoor dal (or Puy Lentils)
- 1 1/2 cups red kidney beans (soaked overnight)
- 1 sweet potato (with white flesh peeled and chopped into fairly big cubes, optional)
- 1 red onion (chopped fine)
- 5 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 Tbsp. ginger (grated)
- 1 tomato (chopped fine or 1 tbsp tomato paste)
- 1 Tbsp. curry powder (heaped, or any masala powder, I used meat masala powder)
- 1 Tbsp. red chili powder
- 1/2 pepper
- 2 tsp. cumin powder
- 1 bell pepper (3. 1, or cherry pepper chopped)
- salt (to taste)
- 1 Tbsp. olive oil
