- 2 Tbsp. champagne (further reduced, see instructions below. this is more like an extract)
- 1 box white cake mix (I used Duncan Hines)
- 1 box chocolate instant pudding (white)
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 9 large egg whites (room temperature)
- 1 1/2 cups fine granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 lb. butter (unsweetened, 6 sticks, softened, do not microwave, just let sit out on the kitchen counter til soft)
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. champagne (reduced)
