Description
If you’re looking for the ultimate comfort food dinner, you’ve found it. Braised chicken thighs simmer in a creamy, paprika and herb-flavored onion pan gravy that’s plenty generous to serve over rice (and with biscuits). Even better, this main dish can be on the table in less than an hour. The recipe is a Yummly original created by Ashley Strickland Freeman.

Directions
- Sprinkle chicken on both sides with 3/4 tsp. each salt and pepper. Place flour in a medium bowl. Dredge chicken on both sides, shaking off excess. Set bowl of flour aside.
- Meanwhile, heat butter and oil in a large cast-iron skillet (or other large frying pan, one that has a lid) over medium-high heat until the butter melts and is sizzling. Add chicken to the pan with skin side down and cook, turning once, until browned, 8-10 minutes total.
- While chicken browns, halve onion lengthwise and slice crosswise about 1/4 inch thick. Mince garlic.
