This recipe is awesome. My husband always asks me to make it and he is really picky. Extremely quick and easy, super delicious!

Great recipe! I was looking for something for a friend without mushrooms or celery soup. I did modify it slightly the second time I tried it, partly because I was splitting it into two square pans (but I loved the original too!) and I love recipes I can work with! Here is what I did the second time:
1. I used 1-1/2 lbs extra lean ground beef
2. I added 1-1/2 Tbsp. Onion Soup mix
3. I used 2 cloves of Garlic rather than garlic salt (soup mix is salty)
4. I increased the Sour Cream to 1-1/4 cups
5. I only stirred in 1/2 - 2/3 of the bag of tater tots and sprinkled the rest on top to have more crunchy ones.
6. I sprinkled real Bacon pieces over the top before the additional cheese. (I didn't mix them in because I didn't want the bacon flavor to overwhelm the rest.)
7. I cooked it for an hour at 350 so the top tater tots were perfectly crisp.
Next time, I will probably increase the milk a bit too, due to the longer cooking time.
