  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour

    These cookies are delicious! Best flavor of any that I have baked. They turned out more like a cake..then a cookie...so ill try to "tweak" the recipe for next time..and there will be many next times!

    I followed the recipe and chilled the dough but they puffed up too much and didn’t have too much flavor

    They were awesome! The only thing is mine took about 12 min to bake compared to the 8 - 10 min stated in the recipe. They were excellent, chewy and ooey gooey.

    They were great. I've been using cream cheese in my cookies for a while. The local Public Utility District was brushing under the utility lines on our place for several days. The guys got a nice big box of them for morning break.

    We could sense the cream cheese as a very subtle tang in the flavor. Cookies came out just as promised, and we’re fun to share. Turns out I prefer a denser cookie than the softbatch style, which has a cakey crumb to it.

    AMAZING! BEST COOKIES EVER! They turned out supersoft and smooth, not too sweet and with the perfect proportion of chocolate! Even better than chips ahoy! Trust me!

    Scrumptious. I would suggest keeping the cookies very small: firstly, it allows you to eat more of them; secondly, it makes sure that the middle isn't excessively gooey at the end of 8 minutes. I did not refrigerate them for two hours, but they set up anyway... half an hour will probably do it.

    Didn't care for this recipe. Cookies were very firm and not very sweet. I used dark chocolate morsels and walnuts. Not sure if this changed it? Will likely not use this recipe again

    These cookies are fantastic. I made a few changes to the recipe for christmas. I replaced the chocolate chips with chopped candied cherries and wrapped the cookie dough around a chocolate kiss. The recipe worked perfect for this! I chilled the dough in cookie form for 2 hours. This was more than enough time, the cookies did not flatten at all and they ended up taking about 12 minutes in the oven instead of the recommended 9. I didn't wait much time after removing from the fridge to bake, which may explain why it took a bit longer in the oven. My husband ate entire cookie after 9 minutes, only to tell me they weren't yet done... clearly they couldn't have been too bad after 9 minutes then :)
