- 1/2 cup sugar (*, coconut sugar for refined sugar-free version)
- 1 tsp. instant yeast
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 Tbsp. cocoa powder (quality)
- 1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 1 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp. ground cardamom
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp. fine sea salt
- 50 grams refined coconut oil (melted, or other neutral tasting oil)
- 60 mL applesauce (smooth, not chunky!)
- 120 mL maple syrup
- 125 grams icing sugar
- water
