  • 1 1/2 pounds ground sirloin (may substitute with ground round)
  • 2 tablespoons shallot (finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro (finely)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons bouillon (Better Than, ® Roasted Beef Base)

  • 16 ounces button mushrooms (rinsed, trimmed and sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • au jus gravy
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Better Than Bouillon Au Jus Base
  • 1/3 cup warm water (for Au Jus Base)
  • 1/4 cup corn starch
  • 1/3 cup cold water (for starch slurry)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground pepper

    Directions

    1. In a large bowl, gently combine sirloin, shallot, cilantro, garlic powder, pepper and Beef Base. Form 4 (6-ounce) patties. Place patties on a small, rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper; cover and refrigerate.
    2. In a large non-stick skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat; add prepared mushrooms and sauté until done and moisture has evaporated, about 20 minutes; set aside.
    3. In a large saucepan, bring 2 cups water to a gentle boil.
