Description
This burger takes a little more effort than some burger recipes, but it’s totally worth it. The flaxseed keeps the burger from being crumbly, and the beets give it that authentic look that is so popular.

- 1 medium yellow onion (diced small)
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 3 cups black beans (cooked, rinsed and drained)
- 1/4 cup prunes (minced)
- 3 red beets (large, grated)
- 1 1/2 tsp. liquid smoke (or to taste)
- 1 tsp. ground coriander
- 1 tsp. dried thyme
- 3 Tbsp. ground flaxseed (soaked in ¼ cup water for 5 minutes)
