  • 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1 cup Orange (flesh sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ground black pepper (to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon curry powder (or cumin, I was out of cumin; curry worked well)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup red lentils
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups pasta sauce (or canned tomatoes, I only had pasta sauce on hand, and while I think a can of diced tomatoes would work best, ours was delicious with the sauce!)
  • 2 cups black beans
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
