Description
Green beans get an upgrade with this delicious slow cooker side. Cooked with butter until tender, a glaze of McCormick® garlic and onion powders, brown sugar and soy sauce creates a sweet and savory flavor finish. Sprinkle with toasted, sliced almonds - and red pepper - if you like a bit more heat.
Ingredients

- 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 tsp. garlic powder
- 2 tsp. onion powder
- 2 lb. green beans (trimmed)
- 1 cup red onion (thin, strips)
- 3 Tbsp. butter (melted)
- 2 Tbsp. reduced sodium soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/2 cup toasted sliced almonds

Directions
- Mix brown sugar, garlic powder and onion powder in small bowl until well blended. Set aside.
- Spray inside of slow cooker with no stick cooking spray. Place green beans and onions in slow cooker. Drizzle with butter. Cover.
- Cook 2 hours on HIGH or until green beans are tender. Mix soy sauce and cornstarch in small bowl until well blended. Uncover. Stir soy sauce mixture into green beans. Cover again.
- Cook 30 minutes longer on HIGH or until sauce is slightly thickened. Stir brown sugar mixture into green beans just before serving. Sprinkle with toasted sliced almonds.
