  • 8 cloves (Garlic, if you have smaller cloves, use about 12, peeled)
  • 1 inch ginger (peeled and sliced)
  • 1 stick butter
  • cashew nuts (Fistful)
  • 2 tablespoons red chilies (Kashmiri, powder)
  • 1 tablespoon red chilies (Kashmiri, powder and 1 tsp Regular, hot chilies powder for a spicier gravy)
  • 1 turmeric powder (scant tsp)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (I used granulated white sugar)
  • 2 tablespoons kasuri methi (dry Fenugreek leaves)
  • salt (to taste)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cinnamon stick (x 1 inch)
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom (green)
  • 1 black cardamom (number, Badi Elaichi)
  • 1 teaspoon cloves (/ Laung / Lavang)
  • 1 star anise
