- 1/2 onion (medium, peeled and diced)

- 1 red bell pepper (or medium green, chopped)
- 4 cups diced tomatoes (ripe, or 2 cans diced tomatoes, 14 oz. each)
- 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
- 1 tsp. chili powder (mild)
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper (or more to taste-- spicy!)
- 1 pinch sugar (optional, to taste)
- salt
- pepper
- 6 eggs
- 1/2 Tbsp. chopped parsley (fresh, optional, for garnish)

+1 if you add smoked paprika. Amazing. Little bit of richness from the eggs and the mix of garlic, onion, and pepper is delicious.

Turned out good, although I think my cumin is getting old. It makes a perfectly textured egg. Definitely saving this recipe!

Nice, but a bit bland. Next time I’ll add more of every spice. I did omit the sugar, but doubt that would have added to the flavor.

I thought it was great! I did some modifications: no sugar, no paprika (was out), and I replaced the tomato paste/tomatoes with a shakshuka sauce from whole foods brand. It turned out. Oh and I didn't have parsley on hand, but I added a can of chickpeas for protein. I served with crusty bread and it was delicious.

it was excellent! I substituted a can of rotel for the tomatoes and used brown sugar. I cooked the eggs fully and served it on rice with naan bread.

This is my favorite shakshuka recipe. I used extra cayenne for a spicier dish. Very delicious!

My tomatoes were a little too sour so I ended up with sweet and sourish sauce, although it was really tasty, quick and easy.

Amazing. Freezing some so will only need to reheat and add the egg for a quicker breakfast.

Put in 1/4 tsp of the spices as I don't like them as strong; would not cook the eggs as long next time, as want the yolk

Very flavorful and the egg is a really nice touch. Great vegetarian dish. You might to add a spoonful of sugar to mellow out the other spices instead of a pinch.

Almost ready in this picture - second time i have made this. Simple and very very tasty! Definitely a main dish served with either a salad or bread as suggested

This turned out amazing. i saw this dish online elsewhere before and forgot all about it so i was thrilled it randomly popped up in Yummly.
I seasoned with smoked paprika in addition to what was listed in the recipe and my how that mad a pop to it.

5 stars. Because of my ambition I attempted this recipe, but in reality I would never try this. An inner voice told me to try it out. I'm glad I did. This is a recipe is delicious. I can see myself, as a result, achieving my weight loss goal!!👍💕

Turned out awesome. The eggs were a little over cooked but my kids loved it will make agian for sure. Simple and easy to make.
