Description

Fresh green beans have never tasted better. Serve along side with Ginger Pork and Stuffed Skillet or Grilled Peach-Glazed Ham Steak.

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 pound green beans (trimmed)
  • 1 quart water (boiling)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons bacon (fried and crumbled)
  • pepper (to taste)

    Directions

    1. Heat heavy saucepan over medium-high heat; add sugar and stir just until melted. Add green beans and boiling water; cover and boil for six minutes. Drain; plunge beans into ice water. Drain. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet, add beans, cook just until through. Stir in bacon; season to taste.
