Directions
- Begin at least four hours ahead of time (or the night before), so the fruit will have time to soak.
- To make the simple syrup Pour the equal parts water and sugar in a saucepan. Heat the ingredients until dissolved. This will make slightly more simple syrup than you need for this recipe. Once the simple syrup is cool, store in the refrigerator.
- To make the brandy-soaked fruit add the cubed apple, strawberries (or other berries), and oranges to a pint mason jar or another container of like size. Completely cover with brandy of choice. Let fruit soak for at least four hours or overnight.
- To make the Sangria start with a chilled pitcher. Add orange juice, pomegranate juice, ¼ cup of the simple syrup and triple sec. Stir. Add entire jar of brandy-soaked fruit, including the brandy, to pitcher. Add one bottle of red wine (your choice) to pitcher. Stir and enjoy!
