- 1 tsp. fresh lemon juice
- 2 cups unbleached all purpose flour

- 16 Tbsp. unsalted butter (8 ounces/2 stick, softened)
- 2 cups granulated sugar (divided)
- 6 Tbsp. almond paste (not marzipan)
- 4 large eggs (room temperature)
- 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
