Prepared this exactly as written and recipe is definitely a keeper. It’s an interesting combination of flavors which in no way overpower the taste of the shrimp. Don’t be tempted to add salt to the marinade. Instead, trust the salt block to do the work for you. Strongly recommend using a brush as opposed to a mop. The latter will soak up the liquid, leaving the garlic and shallots behind.
