This is almost identical to the recipe my grandfather brought with him from Ayrshire, Scotland in the 1920's when he came to Canada. The only exception in the ingredients is the ratio of rutabaga/carrot are equal. The other minor exception is the absence of the food processor - a rustic mash is more what he made and what my family has made ever since. It's a MUST have for every Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. (Had no idea it would last 3 days in the frig - we never have any leftovers). What I have found interesting is finding other families who have family from the same area who also do the exact same recipe.
