- 1 cup wholemeal flour (Self Raising, I didn't have any so used standard self raising flour and it was fine.)
- 2/3 cup brown sugar (lightly packed)
- 125 grams butter
- 2 Tbsp. golden syrup
- 1 Tbsp. boiling water
- 1/2 tsp. bicarbonate of soda

I made these during isolation in the uk. I thought it would be a good afternoon snack for the kids after home school. The bars have all the taste of flapjack with the texture of a cookie. So much easier to make, cut and eat.
