I used approximately 1/3 cup dried onions in place of the large onion, red pesto instead of regular (I really liked the taste), and since my tomatoes came in a 28 oz, 796 ml can, I also put in about 6 fresh frozen cherry tomatoes to make up the difference (and 2 drops of liquid smoke). My jar of peppers was 500 ml, 16.9oz.
